    Step 14: Open An Existing Document

    Start Microsoft Word. This automatically opens a new document. In the TOP LEFT corner, its Title Bar displays Document 1
    You are going to open Paragraphs (the document you named and saved in Step 12)

    Step 15: De-Select



    First, you are going to change the way you view your document

    1
    On the Menu Bar, click View and its menu appears
    2
    Click Page Layout
    You are going to SELECT your paragraph
    3
    On the Menu Bar, click Edit and its menu appears
    4
    Click Select All
    Now, you are going to de-SELECT your paragraph

    Move your mouse around your white text area and it appears on your screen as an (I-beam)

    Now, move your mouse into the white space to the LEFT of your paragraph (your LEFT margin)

    You need to pass you courser to the start of the paragraph and holding the mouse left button and move the mouse to the end of the paragraph and release left mouse button. your paragraph is selected now. You can change the color . you can make it bold . all properties are applied on text but selection is necessary at first.
